About the Author

Chuck Johnson has been hunting and cooking wild game for over 30 years. Chuck owns and breeds German wirehair pointers and writes a regular column Training the Versatile Hunting Dog for Pointing Dog Journal. His book Training the Versatile Hunting Dog is an excellent training book for all pointing dogs.

Chuck has also written three wingshooting guides on Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota. His Wild Game Cookbook is the second book co-written by Chuck and his wife Blanche. Their first cookbook, Savor Montana, received rave reviews from Grays Sporting Journal: “The Johnsons hunt and cook with soul. This inviting nicely produced cookbook is destined to become dog-eared and stained with use.” The best endorsement a cookbook can have.
